FAQ
WHAT AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY TO?
Important!! Please book your tickets to the Tenerife South airport (TFS)! The apartment is close to this airport. There is also an airport in the north of the island but it is about 80km away so do not use it!
HOW DO I GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE APARTMENT?
We will arrange this for you if you wish within the check-in procedure. Our local person will pick you up in the arrival hall and drive you directly to the apartment.
Alternatively, if you rent a car at the airport, what is an easy procedure, you will be able to drive yourself. The drive from the airport to the apartment is about 20 minutes.
HOW DO I GET AND HAND OVER THE KEYS FROM THE APARTMENT?
Our local person will either pick you up at the airport in the arrival or – in case you rent your car – will wait for you in front of the Windsor Park complex. She will give you the keys and explain the basics.
WILL BEDDINGS AND TOWELS BE AVAILABLE IN THE APARTMENT?
Yes. Beddings and towels are provided.
CAN I SMOKE IN THE APARTMENT?
No. Smoking is allowed only on the terrace.
CAN I HAVE PETS IN THE APARTMENT?
No.
HOW CAN I RENT A CAR AND WHERE CAN I PARK IT?
It is very easy to rent a car via Booking.com. It is advisable to do it in advance, but even on the spot, within standard working hours, there are number of open car rental offices in the arrival hall. We have used Topcar several times and it worked well.
We recommend you to rent a car that just loads your luggage but not bigger. Tenerife is an island and driving/parking big cars is not convenient/recommended.
Parking is quite easy around the Windsor Park complex (we always found a parking place in max. 3 minutes walking distance). If you do not find a place directly in front of the complex, go up the hill towards Red Gym, turn right and there normally you will find a place…
WHAT IS THE WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BEACH?
It is about 25 minutes. But we want to be open – the Windsor Park complex is situated up the hill. To walk up and down requires you are fit and you like walking. No drama, but you should know it. But the bus stop is just next to the apartment door and also the taxi can take you anywhere for a reasonable price. When we need, we always took a taxi (Uber). And to move the stay to completely another level, rent a car.
IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL TO AVOID OR TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT?
- Make sure you do not close the terrace doors when on the terrace. There is no way you can open them from the terrace when closed!! Do not get trapped! Keep the terrace doors always open when using the terrace.
- Please do not be loud. Windsor Park is a residential complex. We have great relationships with our neighbors. We share the apartment to enjoy relaxing atmosphere. It is not suitable for stays with small children.
- The Air Conditioning, when in operation, produces water, which is collected on the terrace into 2 barrels. Please make sure these barrels are emptied (into the toilet) before they are full. It is prohibited by the Windsor Park commune to spill water from the terrace, other than rain water. Based on the outside temperature, it can produce about 2 liters of water per hour of operation.
